Unable to install shared printer driver
Hi.
We have some PC in our organisation who cannot seem to install some printer drivers correctly. Our photocopier is a RICOH IM C6000. The drivers are shared on our server.
We will migrate to a new server soon and we installed the drivers on it.
Some users managed to install the driver, some not. All of our OS are in Windows 10 professionnal.
For those who didn't work, when the installation is finished, the name of the driver is not displayed in Settings --> Peripheral devices --> Printer and scanners.
If i go in device Manager, sometimes i can see "device not recognized" and sometimes the name of the photocopier is there.
If i update the driver in the device manager, the driver is displayed in Settings --> Peripheral devices --> Printer and scanners. but i cannot go in the printing preferences.
However, i can see this message "SystemSettings.ViewModel.SettingEntry"
I did try to do the command sfc /scannow with admin right in order to repair some Windows files but without any luck...
Also, i downloaded new drivers on the RICOH website and same result. But everything work on my PC but some not.
Can someone help me? I searched on the web but didn't found any solution.
Finaly i was able to resolve the problem!
I downloaded a new driver PCL6 from RICOH website and installed it localy on the PC instead with the share on the server.
In the installation section, i did a scan to discover the printers on the network and selected the one i wanted.
I was able to install the driver and go into the settings.

A corrupted driver can be responsible for this issue, therefore, to fix such errors, we need to reinstall the 802.11n Network driver.
To do that, launch Device Manager
Expand Network Adapter
Right-click Wireless LAN 802.11n (or Broadband 802.11n Network Adapter)
Select Uninstall.
After uninstalling the driver, we need to reinstall it.
To do that, right-click on Network Adapter from Device Manager and select Scan for hardware changes.
Hopefully, these solutions will fix such errors.
